DTSI
performed Information Technology (IT) services at the FBI
Headquarters, Washington, D.C. in support of the Identification
Division Automated Services (IDAS) System and the Interstate
Identification Index. During the contract period of performance, DTSI
software specialists updated the IDAS with enhancements mandated by
the law enforcement community and by legislative and policy changes.
Some of the major enhancements included:
- increased processing capability required by the
Felon Identification in firearms sales
- communication upgrades required by the National
Crime Information Center (NCIC)
- increased state participation in the National
Fingerprint File (NFF)
- software engineering to increase processing
capabilities through the year 2000,
- and software interfaces to utilize modern
technologies as they were developed for the Integrated Automated
Fingerprint Identification System (IAFIS).
DTSI
also modified software required to support the increased processing by
the NCIC system and additional state participation in the submission
of fingerprint data to the Electronic Fingerprint Image Print Server
system. Those systems support more than 63,000 end-users and process
in excess of 1.6 million transactions per day.
